Oi meu amigos e familia! I wanted to let yall know how much I miss you guy and you are in my prayers! These past two weeks have been so busy and aboslutely wild so hang tight.
The first week of being a missionary was at home and each day Id get up at 630 and start classes and they would go on and off till about 530. This is where I started my portugese and got to meet my district. Our district has 8 missionaries. 4 elders and 4 sisters. All 4 Elders in my district are going to Campinas! hopefully we cross paths later down the line because Elder Irizarry (my comp.), Elder Thompson and Elder Ward are all amazing guys.
Getting to the airport and leaving my family was hard but everthing felt right. This truly is what i should be doing and that brings me the comfort I needed. We had a 3ish hour flight to Atlanta where I got some panda express and then a 9-10ish hour flight to Sao Paulo! I loved the flights so much. Its so awesome to see the world from that perspective. God really did put time and effort into each detail of this world.
We got to brazil at 530 in the moring. From the airport to the CTM was wild. Brasilian bus drivers are actually scarier than any monster in anyones closets. Lines on the roads are just suggestions and the other drivers are just competition. What you gotta watch out for is the motorcyclists. My brothers would love it here in Brazil becasue everyone has a motorcycle. These guys will shoot any gap no matter how tight and you will find a group of 20 or so riders in a group just flyin down to road. Personally I love the thrill so I dont mind it too much.
We got to the CTM safely and did a bunch of boring orientation stuff. This was the longest day ever. I hadent slept sense early monday moring until late Brazilian tuesday.
This whole last week was a blur of trying to get back on a decent sleep schedule, making it to meals and classes, studying the gosple, and speaking portugese any chance we got. I really do love these people and the Brazilians are so nice and love teaching us new portuese and the missionaries that have been in the CTM for a couple weeks were very helpful and super chill.
I got to play basketball for the first time on saturday and it was the best experience ever. We werent able to have physical activty for the whole first week just because we were so busy. Being able to play basketball was such a blessing.
You guys are awesome and I look foreward to keeping you guys updated on my adventrues! Reach out to me if you have any questions or just wanna talk. Also if you have someone youd like me to pray for Id like to start a prayer list or something.
